Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slices white bread (trim crust (optional))
  • softened butter
  • 1 pound crumbled, fried sausage (drained)
  • 6 slices cheese (I use Velveeta sliced cheese)
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Grease 8×12″ baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Butter 6 slices of bread and place buttered side up on bottom of greased baking dish.
  3. Put a slice of cheese on each slice of bread.
  4. Put cooked sausage on top of cheese.
  5. Top with 6 more buttered bread as for bottom.
  6. Beat eggs, milk, and salt in blender. Pour over bread, cheese and sausage combination.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes uncovered. Top will brown during baking.
