Nectar In Your Life

December 30, 2018 by Kitchen Kreative

In the South (and probably most places) there are many reasons to take food. When someone passes away you take food to the family of the deceased, when someone has a baby you take a meal to the family, if someone has had surgery you take a meal, or for Decoration Day you take something to share in a potluck meal. In our family my husband’s cousin Opal always brought a cake. Now this wasn’t just any cake. It was the most moist, fresh, and delicious cake you have ever eaten. Before Opal passed away she shared with me her recipe. I am so thankful to have this in my collection of family recipes!

I had not made this cake in years! This past Thanksgiving I pulled out the recipe and made if for our dessert instead of a pie. My dad, who was visiting us for Thanksgiving, made the comment he usually prefers pie over cake but this was the best cake he had ever had and I caught him going back for seconds.

We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do. And find a reason to take a dessert to a gathering and make this cake. It’s really easy.https://www.kitchenkreative.com/opals-apricot-nectar-cake/
